Church Membership

At West Acres, we value meaningful church membership. We want to take the time to get to know you, explain our church's beliefs, and pray with you as you seek God's direction in joining our church family.  Here are the steps for church membership:

1. Discover West Acres. Attend this three-week class that meets during the Sunday School hour at 8:45 AM.   The purpose of this class is to help you learn about our church, our beliefs, and the meaning of church membership. Participants will get to know our Senior Pastor and Executive Pastor, and they will discover ways to get connected in the life of the church. Our next Discover West Acres sessions will be May 4, May 11, and May 18. Please know that this class is a prerequisite for church membership.  If you cannot commit to all three sessions, we recommend waiting for another class cycle. 2. Membership Interview. You will meet with one of our pastors to address any questions you may have after completing Discover West Acres. In this interview, you will share your testimony, which is your story of what your life was like before Christ, how you came to faith in Christ, and what your life has been like since trusting Christ as your savior. This is also a time to learn more about the gospel and baptism, if needed.
3. Presentation to Church Family. Once your membership interview is complete and you believe God is leading you to join West Acres, we will present you as a member to our congregation at the conclusion of an upcoming worship service. This will allow our other members to introduce themselves and welcome you into our church family.

Requirements for church membership are (1) trusting in Christ for salvation and (2) being baptized by immersion. (We recognize previous baptisms that have been performed by immersion in a Bible-believing church.)
