Christmas Schedule
The Christmas season will soon be upon us. Because of this, we want to go ahead and make you all aware of some upcoming Christmas dates.
Operation Christmas Child
We’re excited to once again partner with Samaritan’s Purse this holiday season through Operation Christmas Child! By filling an ordinary shoebox with toys and other fun items, you can help share the love of Jesus with children around the world. You may drop off your filled shoebox at West Acres during office hours or any of our service times. Please remember, all shoeboxes must be returned by Sunday, November 23. Thank you for helping bring joy and the hope of the Gospel to children in need
West Acres Church App
In case you missed it, we launched the West Acres Church App a few months ago! If you haven’t already downloaded it, you can find it by searching “West Acres Baptist Church” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. One great feature for church members is access to our member picture directory. To upload your photo: (1) Tap the image in the top left corner of the screen, (2) Tap the pencil icon, then Edit Profile Photo, (3) and then choose a photo from your camera roll or take a new one. A few tips: the app crops a bit off the top and bottom of your photo, so leave a little space above your head. Square or horizontal photos tend to work better than vertical ones. If you’d prefer for the church office to upload your photo, just email a picture of yourself to [email protected]. Uploading your photo helps everyone put names with faces and get to know one another better!
Deacon Ministry Update
We are excited to share that Mark Wilkinson has been appointed to serve as one of our deacons! Mark is already ordained and has previously served in two Southern Baptist churches, including Curtis Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia. He and his wife, Francis, have been faithful members of West Acres since 2023. Please pray for and encourage Mark as he begins serving our church family in this important role.
Brother Bob Rayner
We rejoice even through our sorrow to share that Brother Bob Rayner has died and entered the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Brother Bob served as the founding pastor of West Acres Baptist Church, faithfully leading our congregation from 1983 to 1989. As a church planter, preacher, and pastor, he pointed many to the hope that is found only in Jesus.
Brother Bob fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7). We praise God for his life and ministry, and we give thanks that he now beholds the glory of his Lord face to face.
