The Cooperative Program & LOFJThe Cooperative ProgramThe Cooperative Program is the financial fuel that allows Southern Baptists to work together for the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ across our state, our nation, and the world. Every dollar you given through the Cooperative Program empowers missions and ministry in Georgia, North America, and the world.
State/Regional: Supports the local church, Baptist Campus Ministries on college campuses like Augusta University, and child-care situations like foster-care.
North America: The North American Mission Board (NAMB) supports more than 6,000 missionaries, church planters, and chaplains. The Cooperative Program also supports six world-class seminaries which train nearly 25,000 students. The World: The International Mission Board (IMB) supports more that 3,500 fully-funded missionaries around the globe. Love Offering for Jesus (LOFJ)We are also blessed to have the LOFJ which helps us go above and beyond in supporting missions. Because of LOFJ, West Acres Members can have up to $1000 paid towards the cost of short-term mission trips. For a more detailed look at LOFJ, keep reading below! |
A Detailed Look at the Love Offering for Jesus (LOFJ)
What is LOFJ?
The Love Offering for Jesus (LOFJ) is a year-round missions offering at West Acres that it is divided to help three other annual missions offerings—the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, and our State Missions Offering. In addition, LOFJ greatly contributes to our church’s success in sending individuals and teams on short-term mission trips by making the cost of trips more affordable.
The disbursement for LOFJ Funds is as follows:
1. State Missions Offering (Georgia Baptist Missions): 10%
2. Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (North American Missions): 15%
3. Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (International Missions): 25%
4. Remaining LOFJ Funds (WABC Short-Term Missions, Mission Supplies, Disaster Relief, and Urgent Needs): 50%
